Redhead Brows
Hello Sweets,
Today I want to show you what I am currently using to fill in my eyebrows. I've received many questions about what I use, so I thought it was about time to share it with my fellow red heads. I have used numerous products for my brows, but right now I like to keep it simple. For daytime brows I normally just use my Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 010 Blond but Brow'd. It has a slight hint of red, just enough to keep the brows in line with the hair. If you use products with too much red in them, it can look a bit clownesque.
When I want to fill in my brows for a stronger look (for photo shoots, concerts etc.) I tend to use matt powder eyeshadows/bronzers in combination with the pencil. MAC's 'Bamboo' and 'Texture' are good options when it comes to matt eyeshadows. If those are too red for you, you might want to try the Urban Decay 'Naked' palette, they have two colors which are great for brows; naked and buck. Then there is also a bronzer that I like to use and that is 'Laura Mercier's' Dune Bronzer. That is one of my most loved products because I also use it for eyeshadow as well as contouring. A great multi task products for all different shades of skin and great for redheads too!
A little tip about sharpening all make up pencils in general; I saw someone in my family use the 'Faber-Castell' pencil sharpener, which is basically used for the office. However, I have never gotten my pencils this sharp and without them breaking. The only disadvantage is that it is quite big, but it is super sturdy and won't mess up your make up bag like so many other sharpeners tend to do. I bought my sharpener at a german supermarket called 'Rewe'. It is around €3, but you can also buy it on Amazon.de, it even comes with some pencils, but those are for the office, not the beauty corner. ;)
I use the upper sharpener. |

Je ziet er prachtig uit op die foto!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. I was actually wondering how your eyebrows matched your hair colour. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks gorgeous as always! I'm so jealous of this colour, I wish I was a redhead ... But I don't want to dye my hair, it's dark brown and I like the colour, but everytime I see photos of you I feel like getting my hair red :D
ReplyDeleteNice advice on eyebrows, the Catrice eyebrow pencil looks worth buying!
wow! You're great! every day I am amazed over how beautiful you are and how great it is SMOONSTYLE! Kisses from Uruguay! I love you♥
ReplyDeleteMy current hair colour is similar and my brows were bothering me a bit, I'll try it. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeletehi i want to get a sharener but i live in america how can i get one?????
ReplyDeleteYou could upload photos of black makeup and you would want to use? I hope your photos, thanks Simone ♥
ReplyDeleteI thought I only wore a pencil sharpener of Faber-Castell! Still want to know how you do your outlined eyes Simone! It's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLesly, they sell Farber-Castell products at places like Michaels and Office Depot. These are "art" colored pencils, very high quality for graphic designers, architects, etc. Look in the art section for them.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense with the sharpener, as the pencils it's made for are very soft, blendable colored pencils used for design. I have a huge box of these pencils, used them all through college. Never thought of using the sharpener for make-up, I think I might try this :)
Great! I'm gonna try this pencil out! Luckily, Catrice is sold here in Italy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a redhead too and I don't ever know which shade I should pick, so I always end up looking a little fake when it comes to eyebrows!
Thanks a lot for the advice, Simone! xx
Lovely! I need to find for darker eyebrows! I feel like my eyebrows need to pop out more! Not too much though. Simone, I was wondering if you knew any good foundation/cover ups? My skin is light but not too pale. Hugs from las vegas!
ReplyDeletethis looks perfect! your eyebrows are amazing :) I use also catrice. it's just the perfect shade and it's easy to fill in the brows.
ReplyDeletebtw your're such a beauty and your blog is fab! keep up the amazing work :)

Hello simone! I am a big fan of EPICA and admire you very much, I'm addicted to the songs of the EPICA you a great inspiration to me. I would like you to talk about the color of his hair, which paint you use? what do you do to keep them pretty well? Kisses from Brazil! <3
ReplyDeleteI was wondering which eyebrow pencil you were using! haha thanks! i like your brows like this more than before!! lovely and strong :) the big sharpener for the office made me laugh! haha glad that you find a very good use for it!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. Thanx from one ginger to another.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great post since I wanted tips about coloring the eyebrows for a long time now, but I'd like to know which pencil do you use when your hair gets brighter because the pencil you showed is for a slightly darker hair. Finding pencils for your eyebrows when you're a redhead it's an impossible thing to do! :(
ReplyDeleteSimone, can you do a tutorial for women who wear eye glasses? What make up works best for them? I wear glasses and have no idea what colors I should use on my eyes or even what makeup or lipstick to use. That would be so awesome. Thanks you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial. I never know what the hell to do with my eyebrows they drive me crazy... I usually end up with too dark eyebrows when I try to fill mine in -_-
